ATLANTA, GA – Thirteen of the Atlanta Falcons were at Ocean Prime in Buckhead Monday for an unexpected job. Athletes gave up their night off to trade uniforms for aprons and help serve 130 guests a three course meal. The fundraiser was hosted by Falcons Sean Weatherspoon to raise money for his Spoonful of Hope Foundation.

Teammates Jonathan Massaquoi, William Moore, Jacquizz Rodgers, Corey Peters,  Matt Bosher, Paul Worrilow, Prince Shembo, Antone Smith, Nate Stupar, Tyson Jackson, Zeke Motta and Marquis Spruill came out to rally behind Spoon for an exciting evening  emceed by the Voice of the Falcons, Wes Durham.

Falcons got behind the bar, topped off water glasses, brought out salad plates and cracked the pepper, laughing all the way.  There were even several Falcons that left with winning bids on live and silent auction items.

“I love my teammates,” said Weatherspoon. “I asked if they could come out to help raise money for kids and they did, no questions.”

Through an exciting live auction, ticket sales and donations, Spoon’s Second Annual Celebrity Waiter Night raised $87,000 for the foundation.

That money will start to go to use this Holiday season at Spoon’s upcoming program SPOONfeed a Family.  Spoon and girlfriend, Christine Weston, will invite 20 low-income Atlanta families to a fun day at the aquarium, host a pizza party and send them home with a little something extra for the holidays.

“Spoonful of Hope is about giving people the sense of hope,” said Spoon. “Giving time, giving money, investing in people. Nights like tonight are what allow us to get that done.”

Sean Weatherspoon’s Second Annual Celebrity Waiter Night was made possible through several generous sponsors including: Brasfield & Gorrie, Chick-fil-A Foundation, Brookhaven Wines, Ocean Prime, Athletes First, Dickey Broadcasting Co., Leadership IQ, Loews Atlanta Hotel, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, 5/3 Bank and Auction Sponsor G2G Collection.
